As of 2019, the population of Massachusetts was estimated to be 6.9 million people. This makes it the 14th most populous state in the United States. The population is distributed fairly evenly throughout the state, with the majority living in the more urbanized areas like Boston and its suburbs. Massachusetts is a diverse state, with a variety of ethnicities represented in its population. The largest ethnic group is white, making up 81% of the population, followed by Hispanics and Latinos at 11%. African Americans make up 6%, while Asians account for 4% of the population. The remaining population is made up of Native Americans and other minority groups.

Massachusetts has experienced a steady increase in population over recent years due to an influx of immigrants from around the world. More than 20% of Massachusetts residents were born outside of the United States, making it one of the most diverse states in terms of ethnicity and culture. Additionally, there has been an increase in foreign-born students attending colleges and universities across Massachusetts which has contributed to this growth as well. This diverse cultural background has resulted in a vibrant economy that has become increasingly attractive to businesses looking for talented workers from all over the world.
