Iraq Import Restrictions

In order to enter Iraq, certain goods are subject to specific controls and, regardless of their value and quantity, they require the consent of Iraq government, preferably, license must be obtained prior to passage through the customs, preventing the goods from being retained. The Australian Government, in response to United Nations Security Council resolutions, sanctions the export of goods and commodities to Iraq. The sanctions or exemptions may vary at any time.

  • Fats for human consumption
  • Firearms and firearm parts
  • Hair-dyes containing diamine
  • Medicines
  • Plants and parts of plants
  • Salt, unrefined
  • Serums
  • Weapons
  • Wines, spirits, liqueurs
  • Wireless apparatus and transistor receivers.

Special documentation requirements

Iraq has no current requirements for special documentation.

  • Platinum gold or silver (whether manufactured or not)
  • Shaving brushes made in Japan

  • Sweets containing alcohol
