CLIMATE
The Kingdom of Morocco is located in the northwest of the African continent. The state includes the disputed territory, Western Sahara. Together with it, the area of the country is 710.9 km2, without it – 446.6 km2. The capital of Morocco is located in the extreme west, called Rabat.
Morocco is washed by the waters of the Mediterranean Sea with the Strait of Gibraltar in the north, and the waters of the Atlantic Ocean in the west. The Rif mountain range stretches along the sea coast. And from the southwest, the Atlas mountain system stretches towards it. The coastal zones of the ocean are surrounded by plains. And behind the Atlas Mountains, in the southeast, valleys begin, turning into desert regions. The territory of Morocco along and across is indented with caves.
The climate in Morocco is subtropical. The Atlantic coast is cooler than the Mediterranean, due to air masses from the ocean. In the south of the country, the weather varies seasonally, worsening during hot winds from the Sahara. The amount of precipitation is unevenly distributed throughout the country, on average up to 1000 mm per year, on the slopes of the Atlas it is 2000 mm, and in the desert – 0 mm.
To see the sights of Casablanca, Rabat, Fez, tourists choose the period from April to June and from September to November. People go to conquer the mountain ranges in April and September.
