Nevada Population

Nevada is the seventh most populous state in the US, with an estimated 3.2 million people residing in the state as of 2019. The population has grown significantly in recent years due to a strong influx of people from other states and countries. According to U.S. Census Bureau estimates, Nevada’s population is expected to reach 4 million by 2040.

The majority of Nevada’s population is concentrated in urban areas, with the Las Vegas metropolitan area being home to over 2 million people and accounting for nearly two-thirds of the state’s total population. Other large cities include Reno, Henderson, and North Las Vegas. A significant portion of Nevada’s population is also made up of immigrants from Mexico (14%) and other Latin American countries (8%). These immigrants often come to find work opportunities in tourism, construction, and hospitality industries within the larger cities such as Las Vegas and Reno.

In terms of religious affiliation, Nevada is one of the most religiously diverse states in the country with 19% belonging to a non-Christian religion such as Islam or Judaism. The majority of Nevadans identify as Christian (58%), with Catholics making up the biggest portion at 22%. Around 15% claim no religious affiliation at all.

Nevada also has a large senior population that makes up 16% of its total population; this number is expected to increase over time due to its growing elderly demographic which includes retirees who have chosen Nevada for its low cost of living and pleasant climate year round. Additionally, Nevada boasts one of the youngest populations in America with a median age that is below 37 years old which can be attributed largely to its high birth rate compared to other states.
