Kentucky – The land of blue grass (Bluegrass State) was first explored in 1669 by the Frenchman LaSalle. The Indian name means something like “land of tomorrow”. One of the great pioneers, Daniel Boone, led the first settlers to Kentucky. In 1792 Kentucky became the 15th state in the United States. The capital is called Frankfort. The main sources of income are whiskey, tobacco and horse or cattle breeding.
