Georgia – This state was named after King George II of England. The explorer Hernando de Soto explored the state around 1540, the first English settlement was founded in 1733. Georgia was the 4th state to sign the constitution in 1788. The capital is Atlanta (with the largest airport in the USA) and like this, the cities of Savannah and Plains are among the most popular excursion destinations in the state of around 5 million people. Peaches, cotton and peanuts are mainly grown. Former President of the United States Jimmy Carter is the most prominent citizen of this state.
