Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (Saint Vincent and the Grenadines) is a country in the Antilles. There are 102 thousand residents (2016). The capital is Kingstown. São Vicente began to be colonized in the 18th century. Disputes between the French and the British, for the islands, ended in 1783, when a treaty gave these islands to the British. In the 1960s, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines formed the same administrative unit, when they acquired autonomy. Independence was achieved in 1979.
