Greece is a state in Southern Europe, which covers an area of more than 130,000 km². The country is located in the southern part of the Balkan Peninsula and on the numerous islands of the Mediterranean Sea. January

March

In May, the weather on the islands is mild, without significant drops in the morning and at night. The average daily temperature levels off to +24°С, and the water in the sea warms up to +20°С. June

In June, the beach season opens its arms, delighting children and adults with comfortable, not too hot weather. The warmest regions are the islands of Crete and Rhodes. Temperatures range from +29°С to +34°С here. Rainy days can be 2-3 for the whole month. Thessaloniki is a bit cooler: from +27°С to +30°С. June is perfect for those who prefer a bronzed tan and hunters for stunning photos against the backdrop of the island’s landscapes.

July

In July, approximately the same temperature is set throughout the country. This month, you should be careful when relaxing with small children or the elderly. In the northern regions, the temperature reaches +32°С, while in the southern regions the air can warm up to +40°С. The sea in the resorts is heated to the state of “fresh milk”. When buying a tour to Greece in July, do not forget about safety: cover your head from the sun, use sunscreen and drink plenty of water.

August

August deserves the title of the hottest month of the year. In the north of Greece, the air temperature reaches +33°С, in the south – up to +35…+40°С. The water temperature in the sea reaches +26°С…+28°С. Precipitation at this time is extremely rare. Due to the wind from the sea, high temperatures on the islands are easier to bear. Despite the hot days in August, there are no empty places on the beaches and in hotels, so you should plan your vacation in advance.

November in Greece is cold and humid. The average daily temperature in the north is +16°С, and in the south – about +21°С. The beach season ends this month, although this fact does not frighten many daredevils. At temperatures ranging from +18°C to +5°C in the resorts, you can still find swimming in the sea.

December

Holidays in Greece in December are calm and secluded. This month, lovers of romance and exotic come to celebrate the New Year. The air temperature in the north drops to +9°С…+11°С. In the south of the country it is warmer – about +14°С…+16°С. The first month of winter is characterized by multiple precipitation and strong gusts of wind. Don’t forget to bring comfortable shoes, warm clothes and an umbrella with you.
