Jordan Import Restrictions

In order to enter Jordan, certain goods are subject to specific controls and, regardless of their value and quantity, they require the consent of Jordan government, preferably, license must be obtained prior to passage through the customs, preventing the goods from being retained. Special documentation requirements

Jordan requires an import permit for many goods. Before posting any item, senders should confirm that the addressee has any necessary permit. Commercial goods require an invoice.
Gifts

Gifts to the value of $A110 do not require an import permit and should bear the endorsement unsolicited gift.

Prohibitions

In addition to items prohibited by Dangerous and Prohibited Goods & Packaging Post Guide and ECI International Courier Regulations, Jordan prohibits:

  • Bearer securities
  • Books, newspapers and products of the printing industry- offensive by nature
  • Edible fruit and nuts
  • Lottery tickets and advertising
  • Oil products
  • Products of the milling industry
  • Some mineral products
