Category: Guide to Washington

Washington – The state, also known as Evergreen State, got its name from the first President of the United States, George Washington. The Spaniard Bruno Hezeta was already sailing along the coast of the state in 1775. The first permanent settlement was only founded by Canadian fur dealers in 1810, namely Spikane House. Washington became the 42nd state in the United States in 1889. The capital is Olympia. One of the many attractions are the Boeing factories in Seattle, Mount Rainier National Park and the Olympic National Park. Washington has approximately 3.5 million inhabitants and the main products are cereals, fruit and potatoes.
