Louisiana – The swampy area was first entered by Spanish explorer and explorer Hernando de Soto on his great research trip in 1541. The state name on the Mississippi Delta is Bayou State. The first settlers came to the state in 1717 and were French. They named the state after their King Louis XIV Lousiana. The state went to the Spaniards in 1762, but they had to return it to France in 1800. In the course of the large Louisiana land purchase, the United States acquired it in 1803. New Orleans was the site of a major battle in 1815. Louisiana became the 18th state in the United States in 1812. The main travel destinations are the huge Mississippi Delta and the city of jazz, New Orleans. The capital is Baton Rouge. The main products are cotton, rice and sugar cane.
